| West Virginia University has specific guidelines on how to mail or ship items to students that live in University housing. You can read how to format addresses at this web site. We cannot ship Express Mail, Priority Mail or other shipping types using the US Postal Service to University housing because they have their own mail delivery system once items reach the campus. Because of this, the address format WVU specifies to use is not able to be validated with the US Postal Service so everything 13 ounces of weight or less will be sent First Class Mail. Items over 13 ounces will be shipped via UPS. Items shipped to students at University housing addresses via First Class Mail are unable to be tracked and WVShop.com will not accept responsibility for lost or undelivered packages. Items that are shipped via UPS to students at University housing will be tracked until delivered and once the item is delivered by UPS, WVShop.com accepts no responsibility.
We know it is difficult to know whether an item is 13 ounces or less. As a general rule, anything more than a t-shirt is going to weight more than 13 ounces such as sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, more than one t-shirt, etc. Smaller items are fairly obvious such as license plates, emblems, license plate frames, etc. When shipping to a student, try to use your best judgement and if in doubt, please choose UPS shipping for these items. Do not worry, though, if you choose a shipping method that creates an issue, we will make every attempt to call you and correct it to ensure your order arrives in the time-frame you desire. |
